I have had a blast building The Zoo I Call Home and am getting the hang of this blogging thing, so I wanted to give my readers a gift. I don't have gifts for everyone, but I can give this book to one special person. This is how this is going to work. To enter, simply post a comment to this post with your first name, link to your blog page, and answer the following question: Why do you blog? Easy! Please don't forget to leave me a link to your blog page! Part of this is to meet new people and visit your blog pages. And if I don't know how to contact you, how am I going to tell you if you win???
The prize will be Mom: A Record Book for You. This is a book to fill out and give to your child. It is full of fun things to tell your child about you and your family.

I can't give my real name (I don't do "Elle" -- and if think really hard, you'll recall that you know me personally: mother of twins plus one, we've scrapped at Tracie's house once. Hope that rings a bell. :o)
Why do I blog? Well, if you read my blog you'll understand that, for me, writing is LIFE. No seriously, I'd go bananas if I couldn't write. Oh, and like anyone who blogs I enjoy yacking about myself. *snort*
Here is the answer to "Why do I blog?"
Since we used to live in Idaho, we were so far away from family and friends in Texas. I wanted to post something online for our family and friends to read. They can get to know what's going on with us. Now that we moved back to Texas sooner than we thought, I will continue to post on my blog online for other long distance family and friends that are not in Texas.
I wrote many secret stuff in my diary when I was little. Now that I am older, I do not have much time to keep up with my diary and am not interested in it anymore. I thought that posting my not-secret-anymore stuff on my blog would be fun so other people can read them. ha!
Why do I blog? I started my first blog at Xanga so I could view a friends blog and I needed to be a subscriber. I then decided to start a blog at homeschool blogger because of all the great info that ladies had there, I enjoyed blogging so much I then went to homesteadblogger (which is where I saw you begging for contestants. :) ) Made lots of friends there and by this time I was hooked. I then tried blogspot and while I love the east of posting, customizing etc....it is not family friendly (if you random blog)....so why do I blog, to make friends and get comments.....its neat to be able to meet people around the world and find out that you have lots in common!
Why do I blog?
I had been thinking of trying to get some penpals like I had when I was a child. I even prayed about it. Then I saw in a computer magazine about blogging and I havent looked back since. I have been blessed with many many "penpals" blogging friends from all over the world :)
Thank you, thank you for not requiring a visual verification to do this! I don't get along with blogger commenting because it will never show me the silly thing to type. I'm not sure why. Thanks for not requiring it.
I blog because I like to write foremost. Secondly, it helps me to unwind after a day of caring for my 4 kids 9 and under. I've met a lot of new friends - one even face to face.
Your book looks like fun.

Vicki is my real name, well nickname actually, but it's what I go by....
I started having online diaries/blogs long ago...umm, somewhere around 17 years old...Why I started, I really don't know...Why I keep blogging, well it kept me in touch with my family when I moved away, and now, well, I just love writing so much, sharing about my joys, trials, and frustration. And I LOVE making new online friends, and giving and recieving comments!!
Hi, I am Jacque, and I am a blogging addict.... oops, wrong forum...
Anyway, my name is Jacque, and I started blogging to keep in touch with family across the miles. When I moved to HSB, I found a homeschool community, and my blog quickly became a place to voice my love for homeschooling and all of the things we do with our 8 children.
I have made many friends through blogging, as have our daughters... some of the best we have ever had. So, blogging is a kind of a metamorphosis... at least, it has been for our family.
My daughters got their blogs to hone their writing skills a year ago, and now 2 of them are writing for websites and magazines, what can I say?
Blogging has become an integral part of our lives.
blessings!
Jacque

Greetings!
Thanks for the fun contest. I am a scrapbooker at heart so I think this would be a fun book for me to work through.
I blog because I like having this connection with the outside world. I do a lot of blog visits and learn so much from people. I find it difficult to find like-minded people in my church and community, but out here in the WWW I am discovering many. Hopefully when people visit my blog they will be encouraged and even find some useful information.
Hi
My name is Amanda, but I go by SuperAngel.
I blog for school. My blogpage is my essay page. Every time I post a blog, it is a part of my schooling. It has made homeschooling even better for me!!
This is a nice contest.

Why do I blog? I started blogging a little over two years ago. I think I first heard about it from Cindy Rushton. Then, when I checked out her blog and others' blogs, I was "hooked!" Now, I blog to keep up with on-line friends I've made; to find other homeschoolers who homeschool like me (because there don't seem to be many near where I live); to jot down some of my thoughts; to keep up with at least a few computer skills; to perhaps one day find a "long-lost" friend (I'm an Army brat and think it would be so COOL to find friends I went to school with in Germany or Indiana or Colorado or...); and...
Thanks for hosting this contest! And, thanks to Kay in PA (at HSB) for letting us know about your contest!
Hey!! I just found your blog from reading another lady's blog. I never win these things... but I thought it would be a neat way to meet other blogging ladies!! :)
Why do I blog? Because I hope that I can be an encouragement to others through my posts. (Other Christians, other homeschool teachers, etc...)
